Job Description
Since 1987, Merz Construction has built and renovated custom homes throughout MetroWest, including net-zero and high-performance new homes, major renovations, and historic restorations. We are looking for a Site Supervisor who can run large projects, or several sites at once, from foundation to final as the field partner to our Project Managers.

What You Will Do
- Serve as Construction Supervisor of record on permitted work (if licensed).
- Run large projects or multiple sites from foundation to final, directing Carpenter Foremen and crews.
- Build and maintain the look-ahead schedule with the PM, and sequence subcontractors and deliveries.
- Schedule and attend inspections, and manage code, Stretch Code, and Specialized Code requirements, including blower door and HERS milestones.
- Check quality against plans, specs, and our standards before work is covered up.
- Keep daily logs, photos, and site reports, and flag issues, changes, and RFIs to the PM early.
- Run a safe, clean, organized jobsite.
- Represent Merz on site with homeowners, architects, and designers.
- Mentor Carpenter Foremen and develop the next generation of site leaders.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of residential construction experience, including several years running high-end custom projects.
- Strong knowledge of building science, high-performance envelopes, and Massachusetts code.
- Ability to read plans and specs, and comfort with scheduling and project management software.
- Clear, professional communication with clients, architects, subs, and crews.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Able to walk active sites and climb ladders and staging.
- Pluses: Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL), OSHA 30, a carpentry or lead carpenter background, Passive House or net-zero experience, historic restoration.

What You Will Do
- Lead the site: open and close each day, set the day’s plan, and direct the carpentry crew.
- Lay out from plans and carry the work from frame to finish.
- Coordinate subcontractors on site with the Project Manager, keeping sequencing, quality, and schedule on track.
- Work with the PM on material takeoffs and ordering.
- Keep a clean, organized, safe jobsite that clients are glad to walk through.
- Be the steady, professional presence on site for our team, trade partners, and homeowners.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of carpentry experience, including time running a crew or a site.
- Frame-to-finish skills: layout, framing, exterior trim, and interior finish.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a sharp eye for detail.
- Clear communication with the crew, subs, and PMs.
- Your own hand and power tools, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders and staging.
- Pluses: Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL), OSHA 10/30, millwork or shop experience, air-sealing and high-performance envelope experience.
