Estabrook

Carlisle, Massachusetts
The antique home and contemporary addition were reconfigured to create an open kitchen, family and dining room for large gatherings. The art studio preserves several historic elements of the home while incorporating contemporary finishes. The new timber frame barn is constructed of old-growth Douglas Fir and features traditional construction methods paired with a glass curtain wall that automatically adjusts to filter the light.

“It’s rare that we have the opportunity to renovate an old home, build an addition and build an entirely new structure on the same property—and have the old and new play off one another so beautifully.”
